Here we are again, this time ”flying” above the exotic skies of Brazil! Aline, a helicopter pilot, rated in 3 different types, give us insights of her life as a helicopter pilot in her Country.
So Aline, tell us how it all started, why you decided this career?
Hello to all fans of enjoyflying.net! I feel proud to be part of this project.
I would say that my story is quiet classic as most of pilot stories. I was amazed by the first time that I flew as a passenger in a helicopter. My first flight in a helicopter was 8 years ago and I simply loved it. Then I began studying and searching for ways to become a pilot.
What type ratings do you hold?
I am rated as a commercial pilot, and nowadays I fly 3 different types of single engine helicopters: Robinson 44, Bell 206 Jet Ranger and AS350.
What is your daily routine as a helicopter pilot?
I work in an air taxi Company. So you might see me flying executive (transportation) flights, environment inspection flights, pipeline inspection flights, flights for aerial photography etc. As you can see, I don’t have a routine! Every day might be special with a different types of flights and this is really interesting for me!
Would you like to tell us about people who you want to thank and inspired you?
My parents, of course. They helped me a lot in the beginning, and nowadays they still support me. Plus, some pilots who helped me when I needed more experience and they taught me how to fly better. Finally, I have to mention that I have a lot of friends that are already pilots, so they are a boost factor for my career!
Is there any difficult situation that you have coped with?
The weather, I think, is the worst factor because you can’t predict it all the time. In Brazil, we don’t have weather stations everywhere. So, sometimes you can’t plan all sectors of your flight. Brazil is a big Country and we can have all the seasons in one day.
What are your future plans?
I can dream of me flying in other countries. Yes it is one of my thoughts. Also, I want to fly a twin-engine helicopter!
Thank you Aline for your interview, we wish you all the best in your life and in your career!
